Jumbo-Visma says goodbye to Dai Dai N’tab and two other skaters | Sport

In any case, the future of Dai Dai N’tab does not lie with Jumbo-Visma. Jac Orie’s skating team will not extend his expiring contract, just as Serge Yoro and Reina Anema will also leave the team.

After a disappointing season, it was already clear that Jumbo-Visma wanted to significantly reduce its sizeable selection. Olympic champion Thomas Krol decided to quit. Three other outgoing skaters are now known: N’tab, Yoro and Anema.

Discussions are still ongoing with other skaters who have an expiring contract. The best-known names are Jutta Leerdam, Antoinette Rijpma-De Jong and Jorrit Bergsma.

N’tab’s departure follows a lackluster season. Years ago, the 29-year-old sprinter seemed on his way to conquering the world top, but his progress has stalled in recent years. He missed the two Winter Games and did not qualify for the world cups and major tournaments this year.

“I would like to thank everyone who has been part of the adventure during this period at Jumbo-Visma,” N’Tab writes on Instagram. “The last year and a half has been disappointing and has not gone as hoped. I am far from done. and look forward to a new adventure, where I can show myself as an athlete again.” The skater says that it will soon become clear what that adventure will look like.

Jumbo-Visma has also decided not to continue with Myrthe de Boer and Evelien Vijn, who played for the Development Team for the past two years. Jordy van Workum is also leaving. According to the team, after careful consultation he has decided to have his contract terminated immediately.
