Ineos Grenadiers was second with a time of 24.53. Quick-Step – Alpha Vinyl was 1 second behind. With Primoz Roglic, the winner of the past three Rounds of Spain and three Dutchmen on board, Jumbo-Visma created enthusiastic faces in Utrecht, where the start of the Vuelta was embraced by the massive crowd.

At the first measuring moment, after eleven kilometers, it was already clear that Jumbo-Visma was going to make the first move this Friday. The team was no less than fourteen seconds faster than QuickStep, which had come through the fastest until then.

The second stage will follow on Saturday, which leads from Den Bosch to Utrecht. After Sunday’s stage, with start and finish in Breda, the Vuelta continues on Tuesday in Spain.
