Supermarket chain Jumbo warns that one of its soups may contain salmonella bacteria. This bacterium can cause a serious food infection.
It concerns the steam soup Tom Ka Khai, which can be kept at least until June 7 and June 8 of this year. “Jumbo asks customers not to consume the steam soup and to return it to one of its stores,” the supermarket company said.
Salmonella can be dangerous, especially for pregnant women, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. If someone becomes infected with the bacteria, this can cause symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Symptoms usually appear within 12 to 36 hours and can last for a few days. In the worst case, someone can even die.
