July weather forecast in Zoetermeer: ’Pleasant summer weather, but also a chance of thunderstorms’

Summer month of July has started. Will the weather be ideal for a day trip to Noord Aa or a boat trip on the Zoetermeerse Plas or will we have to camp in Zoetermeer because of thunderstorms? The prospects for the summer month look good.

July starts with temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees, very normal for this time of year. “This is due to winds that blow from the west to northwest,” explains meteorologist Matthijs van der Linden of Weeronline.

thunderstorms

The first weeks of July are mainly dry. Sometimes there are cumulus clouds and a local shower, but the sun shows itself a lot in Zoetermeer. That may change in the second half of July. “Halfway through the month, the wind may turn east to southeast,” says Matthijs. “Especially if the wind blows more from the southeast corner, there is a chance of tropical temperatures. This also increases the risk of thunderstorms.”

Ideal beach weather

Despite the chance of thunderstorms, July will be a mostly dry month with good beach weather. Our own beach, the Noord Aa, is an ideal place to stay for this. Are you going to Scheveningen or Kijkduin for a day? The sea temperature rises to an average of 18 degrees, ideal for a cooling dip on a hot summer day.
