Julia Boschman from Bergen op Zoom has been at K3 for exactly one year. It is a dream come true for the Bergse. “It’s been great for me.”
When Studio 100 announced at the beginning of last year that it would be looking for a new K3, Julia didn’t have to hesitate for long. After a successful first audition, de Bergse was selected to participate in K2 Searches K3. After a weeks-long television show and a blistering finale, K3’s Hanne Verbruggen and Marthe De Pyllecyn decided that Julia would be their new colleague.
Career
Julia already had some experience in local showbiz. In 2019 she participated in the spectacle Supersum, about the liberation of Bergen op Zoom in World War II. A year later, the blonde’s career gained momentum. Suddenly Julia was a superstar, because K3 is still a successful group to this day.
Julia immediately felt at home in K3. “I think I also knew very well what I was getting into and what K3 should be in my eyes,” she says. “I think I was already a K3, but I’m more comfortable now.”
A year passed
In his own words, the past year has passed at lightning speed. Waterfall, the first single from the new K3, was number 1 for weeks the Belgian hit list Ultratop 50 (similar to the Dutch Top 40). Of course, K3 also immediately went on tour in Belgium and the Netherlands. And now the second CD, with Julia on the album cover, is in stores.
For Julia, winning the final of K2 Searches K3 feels like yesterday. “But when I think back about what happened in that year, I wonder how we managed to cram it into one year.”
Marthe: “From the first moment, Julia’s presence felt very normal and normal.” According to the Flemish, who has been with K3 for seven years now, they hear from people around the trio that it seems as if they have been together for years. “I am convinced that we have made a perfect choice with Julia, as Klaasje’s successor.” Julia is visibly proud. “I’m glad she still thinks that after a year, but ask again in a year,” she jokes.
Until the end of this year, K3 will tour the Netherlands with their first concert series. Not much later, in the spring of 2023, the girls are already touring the low countries with a new concert series.
