Walks, from Lubin in Poland, would have claimed, among other things, that she was Inga Herkke, a German girl who disappeared in 2015, and later also Acacia Bishop, a child who was missing in the US. According to the prosecutor, her age and at the latest she excluded her as a realistic candidate in all three cases.

Together with Karen Spragg (61) from Cardiff is on trial for stalking the McCanns and causing serious emotional damage. Both deny the charges.

A voicemail van Walking at Kate McCann was played in the courtroom, in which she said: “I know I am not beautiful like Madeleine was, but I know what I know, I know what I remember. Please give me a chance.”

The case receives a lot of attention, partly due to the permanent public interest in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in 2007 in Portugal. The process will be continued on October 14.
