The last Tampere local match of the regular season culminated in the last seconds of the three-set. First Oula Palve gave Ilves a 2–1 lead just three seconds before the final buzzer.
Then the attacker of Ilves’ lower chains Jeremy Gregoire it was a blast. The puck was just about to drop into the starting circle when Gregoire hit Tappara with his stick Take Somppi between the crotch.
The situation was checked on video, and Gregoire received a two-minute suspension for his blow.
Maikkar’s expert and Leijoni’s head coach On Jukka Jalose had a clear opinion about the Canadian striker’s sloppiness.
