On Saturday, Leijonat suffered a 1-2 loss to Switzerland at the Euro Hockey Tour in the Czech Republic.

Finland had quite a few long attacks in the match. Superiority did not produce results either.

The head coach Jukka Jalonen was not satisfied with the game.

– Attacking was quite slow. It can be seen when changing six players per game. You don’t really find common ground very quickly. Especially when you have the upper hand, you always have a new man by your side. It’s a bit confusing, Jalonen commented in an interview with Discovery +.

The Czech EHT is the last opportunity to provide screens for the World Championships starting next week. Jalonen changed the lineup quite a bit for the match against Switzerland.

For example, the first chain had been replaced. The big changes were understandably visible in the rink.

– We want to see who is at their best. The main thing is player choices. It’s not whether we lose or win by one goal, Jalonen emphasized.

– It’s a big thing that we find a team that we can manage with.

It was clear from Jalonen’s speech that the lineup is being analyzed carefully even before the last World Cup general. The head coach did not comment on who will be between the posts of the Lions on Sunday.

The interviewer gloats

Bruised in the four chain of lions Jere Sallinen disappointed with the afternoon show. He returned to the rink after a couple of weeks off. The season in Switzerland ended last week with a silver medal.

– Noticed that there is little Huili behind. There was a bit of searching, Sallinen said.

Discovery’s interviewer Oona Tolppanen asked the attacker if the same “searching” was also felt by his teammates.

– Well, I don’t know how the others felt. But that’s what it looked like today.

Finland ends the EHT tournament on Sunday against Sweden. The match will be played again already at 1 pm Finnish time.
