Actor Juha Veijonen64, and florist Maria Hämäläinen32, have divorced.
Hämäläinen tells Iltalehte that the couple broke up in June. The separation took place in good mood.
– We still live close to each other. We are in daily contact, we take care of our dogs and cat together. We have parted as friends.
Hämäläinen stayed to live in the couple’s shared home. Veijonen moved nearby.
Hämäläinen says the reason for the difference is the different rhythms of life.
– We didn’t really fit under the same roof anymore.
Hämäläinen admits that the couple’s age difference was also an influencing factor.
– I have such a busy life. Juhahan is about to retire. These two rhythms of life no longer fit together. It’s probably also related to age.
Veijonen and Hämäläinen were together for 10 years. In an interview with Iltalehti in 2021, the couple talked about the quick start of their relationship. The first meeting took place at night in Helsinki, and Hämäläinen immediately started spending a lot of time at Veijonen’s place.
