Singer-songwriter Juha Tapio has been able to feel the same emotions again this summer as he did at the beginning of his career. When Tapio returned to the stage after a two and a half year hiatus, the atmosphere was “wonderful”, according to him.

– The way it should be. It’s a routine, but you still don’t know what’s going on and how it should be, Tapio tells Iltalehte at Restaurant Hook Tapiola’s one-year anniversary.

The audience had been waiting for the artist to return.

– Maybe that kind of authenticity and immediacy marked the summer gigs. You noticed that in people too. It was kind of familiar, but kind of new and really great that we are together. In a certain way, the same feelings as in the early stages of my career, but I wasn’t quite so lost, Tapio laughs.

Tapio’s gig break was not dictated by the corona pandemic, but planned.

– It was planned to continue in the summer of 2022. For me, it went completely as planned. I’m one of the few who had this happen, says Tapio.

Along with the autumn concerts, Tapio is working on a new album.

– That’s quite enough. It’s motivating and nice, says Tapio.

Juha Tapio opened the Golden Festival of the Lions in May.
