The Bavarian Judo Association secured the gold medal in the mixed competition at the finals. Lower Saxony had no chance in the final on Saturday (07.08.2023) in the Düsseldorf Castello, but can console itself with silver.
The successful Bayern team, who won the first four fights, included heavyweights Kilian Kammelmaier (+90 kg), Bettina Bauer (+57 kg), Bertille Murphy, Mina Ricken (both -70 kg) and Peter Thomas in the final (-73kg) and Timo Cavelius (-90kg).
NRW and Berlin celebrate bronze
The teams from North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin had previously secured the bronze medal. The two fifth places went to the Hamburg Judo Association and to Württemberg.
