Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is one of the hottest stars in the transfer market. There is said to have been a meeting between the player side and Real Madrid about BVB’s Champions League game at Chelsea.
Jude Bellingham’s uncertain future continues to have the football world in suspense.
On Tuesday, the “fussballtransfers” portal reported a meeting between the father of BVB professionals and Real Madrid’s chief scout Juni Calafat at the Chelsea Harbor Hotel in London.
Borussia Dortmund was in the English capital for the round of 16 second leg against Chelsea (0:2). The Bellingham camp apparently took advantage of the moment to sound out Real Madrid’s interest.
The reigning Champions League winner sees the 19-year-old as a potential heir to Luka Modric. The Croatian only has one contract left until the end of the season. According to “fussballtransfers”, Modric is currently tending to leave Madrid.
Is Jude Bellingham leaving BVB?
Does the meeting between Real and Bellingham’s father Mark show that the BVB professional can imagine a move to Royal? Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano did not want to overestimate the meeting.
“It’s perfectly normal to meet when officials are away for the Champions League,” the Italian journalist told CaughtOffside.
“Bellingham’s father meets every week, as does Borussia’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl. The decisive point is Bellingham’s decision, and it hasn’t been made yet,” revealed Romano.
Even staying at BVB does not seem out of the question. As “Bild” reported with reference to club circles, the chances of further cooperation are “50:50”. The central midfielder still has a contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2025.
