Josje Huisman talks about her breakup for the first time: ‘I have accepted it’

After twelve years in Antwerp, Josje now lives in Zwolle in Overijssel. “I live in a nice, working-class neighborhood, in a super cozy terraced house from the 1920s, with a small garden, close to my brother.”

She also likes to drive her bright yellow van that she has transformed into a motorhome and given the name Chateau Jos. “It’s the ultimate freedom,” she calls it.

Fortunately, Josje is currently doing very well. “I have nothing to complain about. I lived in Antwerp for twelve years but it felt like it was a bit over there. Since the little one came, I wanted to live closer to my parents and family again.”

At the time, the former singer for K3 moved to Antwerp with the idea of going home again when she would stop with the singing trio. “In the end I stayed much longer than expected, I really enjoyed it, but it has been beautiful.”

Josje huisman has GOOD CONTACT WITH EX

Kamari does not always see them due to her breakup with ex-lover Cle Gyimah. That’s not what she had in mind, but usually her son is with her. “I also know that he is well off his father. In the beginning I found it much more difficult to miss him. But now I plan all kinds of fun things for myself on those days.”

Josje says about the break with her partner that it did not go as she had hoped or wanted. It took her time to give it a place, which turned out differently. “I’ve never felt the need to share much about that, not even on my social media. Because I don’t speak ‘about’ or ‘for’ anyone else – I never have. But it is what it is now, and I’ve accepted that. The contact between us is going well and we want the best for our son.”

Josje knows that the healthiest thing for a child is to have two loving parents under one roof. “I am absolutely convinced of that and I do not think about it lightly. But luckily he has a very good relationship with his father.”

“Maybe breaking up is also a form of love. I definitely don’t want to glorify it, but sometimes it’s just necessary to be able to be happy as an individual again.”

CREATE AND ACT HATS

Josje is currently setting up her own hat brand. “I learned to make hats eight years ago and had long wanted to do something more with it, but I didn’t dare take the step.”

She can also be seen as an actress. Josje had a role in Netflix film The Claus Family 2 and now has a role again. “And I have expanded my campervan to travel around Europe. My days are well filled, I am never bored.”
