In August 2021, Joshua Kimmich extended his contract with FC Bayern until the end of June 2025, sending an unusual signal: the midfielder did without an agent and conducted talks with the record champions himself.
At that time, the top performer received praise from CEO Oliver Kahn. “He was very consistent and knew what he wanted and what he valued. He takes responsibility and doesn’t give everything to an advisor,” emphasized the former goalkeeper titan.

In conversation with the French football magazine “So feet” Kimmich explained how the industry-atypical decision to represent himself came about.
“I had some bad experiences with my last agent. I think I’m in a better position than anyone else to defend my interests,” said the Munich player, who doesn’t want to justify himself to anyone.
If he makes mistakes, it’s his own, not someone else’s. “I want to sit at the negotiating table myself to find out what is being said there,” Kimmich clarified.

The six is currently said to earn around 20 million euros a year. This makes Kimmich one of the top earners at Bayern Munich.
The premium for the most recent extension also went entirely into the pockets of the mentality player.
Born in Rottweiler, he has been playing for the German industry leader since 2015. Since then he has appeared in 299 competitive games for Munich (33 goals, 83 assists).
