Joseph Oosting, Ron Jans and Dick Lukkien nominated for Rinus Michels Award

FOOTBALL – Football coach Joseph Oosting from Emmen has been nominated for the Rinus Michels Award. In addition to Oosting (RKC Waalwijk), Ron Jans from Tynaarlo (FC Twente), Erik ten Hag (Ajax), Arne Slot (Feyenoord), and Kees van Wonderen (Go Ahead Eagles) have also been nominated for the prize of best trainer/coach of the year in the Premier League.

FC Emmen coach Dick Lukkien is one of the nominees in the first division.

It is the first time that Emmenaar Oosting has been nominated. Last year Ajax coach Ten Hag received the Rinus Michels Award for the third time, after 2016 and 2019.

Oosting has been nominated because he finished tenth in the Eredivisie this year with RKC Waalwijk. It is Oosting’s first season as head coach in professional football. He was previously an assistant to Vitesse and also to FC Emmen. In amateur football he trained ACV and WKE, among others. As a professional football player, Oosting played for FC Emmen and BV Veendam.
