Jort Kelder wants fat people to pay more health insurance premiums than fit people, the Op1 presenter shows in a column for the FD. “The bacon pandemic costs a lot of money.”
The vegetarian Jort Kelder pays a lot of attention to his diet. He is a fit man and is almost starting to belong to a minority. According to him, half of the adult Western population is already overweight. “And the fat ones are expensive,” he writes FD column.
Risk storage
According to Jort it is strange that there is no discussion about the high social costs of ‘fat people’. “Where chunk pilots in vans pay extra premiums, a risk surcharge for those who deliberately head for diabetes, heart failure, IC admission with corona or the dreaded disease K is brushed aside: ‘Fatshaming!’”
The good suffer from the bad, he says. “So if you are going to grab the broccoli at the vegetable jeweller’s, or if you are sweating in the gym after a long day at the office, please take a moment to think about the other half of the Netherlands who just had a can of beer, a bag of chips and a menthol cigarette. plopped down on the sofa. Stay in solidarity, eh?”
Fierce criticism
Jort is facing a lot of criticism. “I’m not even going to read this because then I’ll pull his suspenders through my phone’s screen to give him a pear on his mouth. Sad horn 🤮”, tweets the angry Mrs Astrid.
One Ben thinks the presenter is a ‘drammer’. “Jort is obsessed with (over)weight. Once had an expert on corona in his radio program. Jord kept going on and on about fat people killing themselves. Despite being expertly refuted multiple times, it just threw in again and again.”
Asocial approach
Marc thinks that Jort goes too far. “Join the club who wants to impose on others what they are not allowed to eat, are not allowed to say, are not allowed to look, etc… The Netherlands has a social system for a reason and everyone contributes to it, regardless of how others live off it. Measuring with money is an anti-social approach.”
And John: “The hateful health cult, Jort is participating nicely.”
