Fleur Agema, the number two of the PVV, does not rule out that Jort Kelder is the ‘new sugar daddy’ of former terrorist Soumaya Sahla. “In the footsteps of Frits Bolkestein!”
Jort Kelder was spotted hand in hand with Soumaya Sahla at a book presentation in Amsterdam. The Op1 presenter denies a love affair, but confirms that they are close friends. The ex-terrorist is currently in the news because she has been expelled by the VVD. She allegedly stole money from party leader Frits Bolkestein.
Jort as a sugar daddy?
PVV’s number two Fleur Agema is stunned by this news. She also finds it shocking that Jort brushes aside Geert Wilders’ objections to his suspected new sweetheart. “Wilders wants to score cheaply?!? She wanted to kill him! Or are you Soumaya’s new sugar daddy after Bolkestein?”, she writes X.
Jan Dijkgraaf, columnist and biographer of the Meilandjes, finds it highly suspicious. He says in the podcast Nasty Boys: “Let’s be honest: you don’t go hand in hand with a strange woman you have no connection with, except maybe with your mother and then it’s more like she puts her hand in your arm.”
‘New free range’
Soumaya was on Jort’s radio show two weeks ago. “So at the NPO someone has his own free-range as main guest in his radio program on NPO Radio 1, without the disclaimer: ‘You know Soumaya Sahla as my free-range from now on.’ And that was that broadcast where he did not discuss her terrorist past at all,” says Jan.
That was a ‘money laundering interview’, he continues. “Which we now know that he has been doing it with her at least from then on, or perhaps even before that. Or at least walking hand in hand with her.”
F*cked up
Journalist Bas Paternotte is stunned. “Jort Kelder has a relationship with Soumaya Sahla. What a f*cked up… Well, okay, he is younger than Frits Bolkestein. What a bizarre situation this is.”
Jan: “He denies that he is in bed with her, but hey, it can also be on the kitchen table and on the counter top and in the car. I don’t know where everything is.”
Good friend
Jort was in last night Today Inside and he beat around the bush a bit. “She is a good friend, yes, but ‘do you have anything?’… Yes, I read the Privé. So I didn’t feel that hand, but apparently she did. Then they call you, which is funny: ‘You walked out of Paradiso hand in hand.’ ‘Do you have a photo?’ They didn’t have a photo then.”
So there is no evidence, Jort wants to say. “I walked with her, but not hand in hand. And then they write it down anyway and then they make you say: ‘Oh, yes, but it wasn’t holding hands and we don’t do it together either.’ But hey, that’s a side issue of course.”
Spectacular resume
Does Jort think it’s okay to be friends with a former terrorist? “Of course she has a spectacular CV, let’s face it. We cannot deny that. She was a member of the Hofstad Group a long time ago. That is of course extremely complicated for the VVD.”
He continues: “Because if Wilders starts talking about it like: ‘Hey, that chick was in the EBI because of terrorism’, then of course it’s 10-0 for Wilders, so it bothered them and I believe it was a bit there has been an orchestrated action in recent weeks to get her out. That expulsion was very sudden…”
