Vocalist Jorma Kalevi (Jorma Kalevi Nuppola) has died on Wednesday, October 19, reports, tanssiin.fi website. He was 76 years old when he died.
Jorma Kalevi suffered from incurable pulmonary fibrosis. The singer told Iltalehte in 2021 that he was diagnosed in 2019, when the doctor gave him a couple of years to live.
Jorma Kalevi performed for decades in Playa del Inglés in the Canary Islands. Pulmonary fibrosis slowly developed for him over the years. According to him, the causes that led to pulmonary fibrosis were years of mold exposure and cigarette smoking.
He told Iltalehti in 2021 that he thinks about death every day.
– Death is in front of everyone. For some it comes unexpectedly, for me it comes slowly and surely.
