Jorge, how was your dedication and passion for music born?
I am born in the city of Ensenada. I am nicknamed El León de La Plata, given my love for the Estudiantes de La Plata club.
All my life I have been linked to music, following in the footsteps of my father, Héctor Abel Amiconi, who was the singer of an Orquesta Tipica in the 1950s.
In my youth I formed a rock band with a group of friends called “Prisma”. But the new paradigms of music together with work and family obligations, made music a little relegated.
As time went by, Tango settled in me and I began to understand the meaning of its lyrics. In this way, Tango became part of my life, giving me the immense pleasure of spreading our citizen music.
What does “Your brand” mean and what do you offer to your public?
I take care of every detail in the choice of works, as well as having a strict vocal and repertoire study by my teacher Mario Bracco.
Also, I have the privilege of being able to show off with a Typical Orchestra of eleven internationally recognized musicians.
My Musical Director, Marina Ruiz Matta, is in charge of creating exquisite musical arrangements, through which four albums have already been recorded. The first entitled “Paciencia” recorded in Ion studios and the following entitled “Under a sky of stars”, “Sparkles from my neighborhood” and a single specially requested from Spain, in an electronic version entitled “Paciencia remix for export”.
What are your goals for the future?
My dedication lies in putting Tango in that place it so deserved and that unfortunately it was losing over time. For that I have toured Central and South America, in countries like the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama and Brazil. In turn, I have concrete proposals to visit Europe and Japan carrying our valuable musical culture.
