Tugarinov’s red card threw a spanner in the works for Jonker’s plans. The trainer had to intervene at halftime and make several substitutions. However, the changes had the right effect, because in the second half Telstar was not inferior to Helmond Sport despite the man less situation.

Sven van Doorm was almost the celebrated man at Telstar because of his goal. The midfielder made it 2-1 with his first goal of the season. In the end Telstar was unable to hold onto the lead and so Van Doorm still had mixed feelings about the game.
