Earlier today, May 10, it was reported that a tube star and a social media star Joni Hesselgren was convicted in the district court of Itä-Uusimaa as guilty of three counts of defamation.
Hesselgren was considered guilty of being a tubetzer Janne Naakan for defamation with three different YouTube videos.
Hesselgren’s punishment for the three crimes is a total of 120 daily fines, which makes his income 720 euros. In addition, Hesselgren is obliged to compensate Janne Naaka EUR 8,000 for suffering and EUR 2,000 for temporary inconvenience. In addition, Hesselgren has to compensate Naaka’s court costs of EUR 8,035.20 with interest.

Iltalehti reached Hesselgren to comment on the matter. Hesselgren replied to Iltalehti by message.
– It’s unbelievable that in Finland, for mental damage of this magnitude, you can be sentenced to tougher compensation claims than rape victims, says Hesselgren.
In reality, rape victims often receive higher compensation.
– The fact that some Internet homosexual is a little bit on your side while Piippolan’s Vaari plays in the background as a comedic relief can really end up like this, Hesselgren continues.
Hesselgren also criticized Iltalehti for how the court has assessed the damages. In his opinion, the verdict focused too much on assessments of pain.
Hesselgren would not comment on whether he will appeal the verdict.
According to the prosecutor, Hesselgren caused financial damage to Naakka with his videos, justifying the matter with the fact that Naakka makes money with his personal brand, i.e. with the public’s image of him.
The videos, which have already been deleted today, discussed, among other things, Naaka’s appearance and personality. Naakka told the hearing of the Itä-Uusimaa district court that the videos have caused him physical and psychological pain.
Iltalehti could not reach Janne Naakka to comment on the verdict.
