On Wednesday (April 5), Todd Phillips, director of Joker: Folie à Deux, gave fans a new look at Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn on Instagram. In the post, which features both Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn and Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, he writes that filming on the “Joker” musical sequel has wrapped up.
Lady Gaga makes a very menacing impression in the photo. One can imagine how exciting the transformation of the Dr. Harleen Quinzel to the notorious Joker accomplice Harley Quinn. “Thank you to these two (meaning Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix), the rest of the cast and the BEST crew the film industry has to offer,” Phillips continued on his Instagram post. He will now “go into a cave – the editing room” and complete the film.
Fans reacted euphorically to the post. Countless followers made enthusiastic comments. Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 4, 2024. As with the predecessor, the music for the film is the Icelandic woman Hildur Guðnadóttir contribute.
2019’s “Joker” was a smash hit with critics and at the box office. Grossing $1.07 billion, it became the first R-rated film to break the $1 billion mark. Joaquin Phoenix also won the Oscar for Best Actor.
