Eteläpääty ry took a stand on Joker’s shock announcement.

Joker’s management decided last weekend that the club will not apply for a league place under the current conditions, when the price of the Liiga share was set at a whopping 3.8 million euros.
– We don’t think the price is justified and we don’t see it as reasonable, Saarni told Iltalehte.
After the news, Joker’s official fan association Eteläpääty ry commented on the news on their website.
– The club should not make hasty decisions now, if they are not based on a stable financial basis and the club’s values. We show our support for Jokeri’s long-term development and sustainable solutions in a changing environment, the board of the fan association states in the press release.
In the opinion of Eteläpääty ry, a club operating according to its own principles and values is more important to them than the league level at which the representative team plays.
– The league is not in a hurry, if the club’s most important principles are sacrificed in front of it; high-quality junior work, sensible financial management and a sustainable and responsible future.
