Joker and Batman meet at Arkham Asylum

Three mysteries separate fans of “The Batman” from a five-minute, unreleased scene from the current blockbuster with Robert Pattinson. These mysteries can now be solved on a website specially created for the video release, which also plays a role in the film.

The joker can only be seen out of focus

Alternatively, you can now watch the video on YouTube. The scene shows Pattinson as Batman confronting the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan. The meeting of the two takes place in Arkham Asylum, the psychiatric facility for criminals in Gotham City. That’s why the joker is behind a pane of glass. At no time do the viewers get a sharp, full view of Matt Reeves’ interpretation of The Joker.

What is clear, however, is that the villain played by Keoghan has scars all over his face and hands, bald spots on his head and also looks bloodier than the previous cult interpretation by Heath Ledger and Christopher Nolan did.

Batman seeks help from the Joker

In terms of content, the Joker opens the scene by asking, “It’s almost our anniversary, isn’t it?”, implying that the two would have met during Bruce Wayne’s first year as Batman and Wayne would have blamed him for one of his crimes in banned psychiatry, Reeves said in an interview. Chronologically, the scene is set at the point where the Riddler had already killed the Gotham City Police Commissioner and Batman left one of his enigmatic notes at the crime scene, Reeves says. So his visit to the Joker serves as an attempt to get to the bottom of the mindset of the riddle-solving villain.

An attempt to understand the Riddler fails

The conversation between the two revolves around the Riddler’s motives, at least that was Pattinson’s intention as Batman. But the Joker isn’t much help to him, just taunts him and makes bloody assumptions: “Maybe he’s a fan of yours? Or maybe he has a grudge against you. Maybe you’re the main course.” Finally, he encourages a dark train of thought: “I think somewhere, deep down, you’re just scared because you’re not sure if he’s really wrong.” The Joker is hinting , Batman may share views with the Riddler regarding the elimination of Gotham’s corrupt leaders.

Batman and Nirvana

In connection with the new Batman flick, the Nirvana track “Something in the Way,” which appears twice in the film, has had its streams through the roof. A prank that was appropriated at a Batman performance in Texas also recently attracted attention: A bat was released in the cinema hall and had to be removed at great expense. It was also recently announced that Colin Farell will be playing the penguin in the upcoming HBO spin-off of the Batman film The Penguin.
