Will they drink coffee and smoke cigarettes again? Iggy Pop and Tom Waits will co-host a radio special on December 3rd at 5 p.m. (CET). 19 years after the release of Jim Jarmusch’s episodic film “Coffee and Cigarettes” (2004), in which the musicians also make a memorable joint appearance, you can now listen to them exchanging ideas again.
You can listen to the radio special from “BBC Radio 6” for two hours, in which the two composers, songwriters and actors also play their favorite songs to each other. They want to exchange show business anecdotes between the tracks. The program will be available to listen to via live stream here.
The press release for the show, which has the title “Iggy Confidential,” also states: “Between recordings, the two exchange stories, e.g. Like how Tom once went for a ride with Eden Ahbez, the songwriter of ‘Nature Boy,’ and how Iggy once met Captain Beefheart at breakfast in LA but was smart enough not to disturb him.”
