Johnson accused of violating anti-COVID restrictions again

Journalists found out about two more cases when British Prime Minister Boris Johnson violated the coronavirus restrictions imposed in the country.

We are talking about June 19, 2020, when the head of the British government celebrated his 56th birthday. According to ITV, about 30 guests gathered in his office during the day, and in the evening family friends gathered in Johnson’s apartment. At the same time, according to the rules then in force, more than 6 people who did not live under the same roof could only gather on the street, and they also had to keep a 2-meter distance.

Johnson’s spokesman partially confirmed this information. According to him, the staff of the chancellery really briefly gathered in the office to congratulate the prime minister on his birthday. But in the evening, according to him, a small number of family members, as expected, gathered on the street.

British media have previously reported that Downing Street employees held the so-called “wine Fridays” throughout the pandemic, with Prime Minister Johnson regularly attending. Moreover, two parties took place on the eve of the funeral of Prince Philip, which caused particular indignation of the British.
