Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were married for two years.
The trial of ex-couple Johnny Deppin, 58, and Amber Heard, 35 continues in the U.S. state of Virginia.
The actors have sued each other for defamation. Both have claimed the other was violent during their relationship. They have told the court their own views on what happened in the turbulent relationship.
Deppin’s use of drugs and alcohol has been raised several times in court. On Monday, the trial began with the hearing of Depp’s security guard Travis McGivernia.
– Have you ever seen Depp use any kind of drugs? McGivern is asked.
– Do you mean non-self-medication? McGivern clarifies the question.

According to McGivern, Depp has used cannabis and cocaine. He is also asked how often Depp has used drugs.
– Too many times to count. Every day, McGivern opens up Depp’s cannabis use and laughs.
Depp laughs and smiles at the trial as he talks about his substance abuse. According to the security guard, Depp has used cocaine a few times. McGivern describes Depp as relaxed under the influence of drugs.

According to the security guard, Depp has also used alcohol regularly. However, he has not seen Depp clearly drunk more than a few times.
The council will be held in the state of Virginia and is expected to last up to seven weeks. It is estimated that as many as 120 witnesses will be heard at the trial, including technology mogul Elon Musk. Depp claims Heard had a secret relationship with Musk during their marriage. Musk testifies in court on behalf of Heard via video call.
