Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard: Jury Reportedly Asleep

According to Judy Bellinger, who served as clerk of the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, some jurors found it difficult to stay awake during the trial. Some even fell asleep during the process, she said in a report for Law & Crime Network.

Dozing jury

“It was difficult because there was a lot of video recording. And they just sat there and all of a sudden I saw their head drop,” said stenographer Judy Bellinger.

One juror that impressed Bellinger was a woman who listened very carefully to every word during the trial. In the end, however, she did not take part in the deliberations.

“I thought she would have been a great juror, but she just didn’t get it to the end,” Bellinger said.

Johnny Depp won trial

Johnny Depp emerged largely victorious from the defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury awarded Depp $10.35 million in damages and Heard $2 million in damages. Heard slandered Depp by accusing him of domestic violence, the jury found. The six-week process attracted enormous attention worldwide.
