Johnny Depp is back in the director’s chair for the first time in 25 years

With “Modigliani” Johnny Depp has announced a new directorial work. The film is about the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani of the same name. Depp got prominent support for it. Al Pacino will produce the film.

The film drama takes place in Paris in the 1916s and tells of 48 hours that will change the life of the previously unsuccessful painter Amedeo Modigliani. “It was a life full of difficulties, but finally he was able to triumph,” Depp said in a statement. It is a “universal, human story” that everyone can identify with.

First attempt as a director

The last time Depp directed was in 1997. In “The Brave” he embodied a Native American, but the film was torn up by critics even before the official cinema star. Ultimately, The Brave never made it to the big screen.

Mud fight with ex-wife

Johnny Depp has been in the news for the past few months over the defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The actress had described herself as a victim of “domestic violence” in an article, after which Depp sued her. The allegations are said to have harmed him professionally. In June, a jury awarded him $10.4 million in damages.

Amber Heard has already appealed. For this she exchanged her team. The new lawyers are optimistic and want to “cleanse” their name.
