Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck cover the Beach Boys

Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck have released a cover of the Beach Boys’ “Caroline, No.” It’s another release from their upcoming album “18”.

There is also an accompanying music video of the duo. It shows Beck and his live band performing the play, although the actor-musician, who has just been cleared of his defamation trial, is not in view.

Jeff Beck and “Pet Sounds”

The cover art, of course, is a nod to the immortal Beach Boys classic “Pet Sounds,” which the track concludes. “The entire album was always a great comfort to me in terrible times,” said Beck in a statement about the record from 1966, which in the majority of polls for the best albums of all time – including ROLLING STONE – under the first places comes.

Beck continued, “I had just left the Yardbirds and I really regretted it because I had nothing left to hold my hands… Then I bought a stereo and Pet Sounds and I was totally hooked. I remember after I lost the Yardbirds, Jimi Hendrix stomped on everything and my girlfriend said goodbye, it was very healing for me.”

18, the joint LP by Depp and Beck, will be released on July 15. (The tracklist is HERE). After both working together on a Hollywood Vampires song in 2019, they started their own project. The work on this has spanned the past three years.

In addition to eleven cover versions, the album includes two new tracks, “Sad Motherfuckin’ Parade” and “This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr”, both written by Depp.
