De Mol has always categorically denied those allegations. With a thorough investigation by the judiciary and criminal prosecution, he hopes to be able to put an end to the persistent, openly made accusations against him, which he always has to publicly refute. He wants this to happen “in the only place where this belongs, which is with the police and the judiciary and not in the publicity”, according to Plasman. De Mol looks forward to the outcome of a criminal case with confidence.
Kaes filed a declaration at the end of 2020. According to lawyer Plasman, Kaes’ agents have made contact with both Johnny de Mol and his parents, “to move the family to a performance – read: payment”. De Mol and his father John de Mol then reported an attempted threat, a legal term for blackmail.
Since that time, Kaes and her agent have been constantly looking for the media, according to the lawyer. It concerns “repeats of the previously made allegations”. This hinders De Mol’s personal and social functioning. “He is more or less held hostage by the actions of Mrs. Kaes and her agent.”
From the outset, De Mol has urged the Public Prosecution Service for a quick decision on both Kaes’s report and that of himself and his father. According to Plasman, the public prosecutor has promised that the decisions will be announced this month.
If the Public Prosecution Service does not comply with his request for a criminal investigation and prosecution, De Mol will start a complaint procedure with the court in order to enforce his own prosecution, says Plasman.
