John van den Heuvel is the reason for William Rutten’s mysterious fuss about Gordon’s birthday, the juice channels say. “Apparently he wanted to come across as interesting.”
Gordon received a lot of guests in his penthouse in Amsterdam last night to celebrate his 55th birthday. It was very busy and his good friend William Rutten was also there. He had to leave a little earlier, because he was expected later in the evening in the Shownieuws studio.
Mysterious stuff
Once at the Shownieuws desk, William lifted a corner of the veil about Gordon’s birthday. He was very mysterious about the guest list there. “Yes, I saw Patricia Paay walking. Also some people I’m not going to name for reasons that it’s not possible for a while. (…) No, I am not going to explain that either, because then I will do it anyway.”
William started out on his own about these guys he “couldn’t name.” First, it’s unclear why he brought this up—no one asked him to say anything about guests he’s not allowed to talk about—and second, it’s unclear who he’s referring to. According to the juice channels, this has to do with the presence of John van den Heuvel.
‘Comes because of John’
John is still under heavy security. He was taken away head over heels two years ago from Gordon’s birthday, because Peter R. de Vries was shot a few minutes earlier. And last year there was also a threat about his possible presence on Gordon’s birthday, but then the crime journalist was in our country and the singer was in Dubai.
This time John was indeed present at Gordon’s party and William seems to have aimed at that. “It’s about security, for example the presence of John van den Heuvel. Of course no one is allowed to know that…”, says a spy from Juice Channel.
“Just pictures!”
Another spy does not understand William’s statements. “I have a relative of his on Facebook, it’s just doing interesting. She also just posted pictures with various guests. John van den Heuvel and Herman den Blijker, among others.”
Juice Channel thinks William just wanted to show that he knows more than the viewers at home: “John was indeed there, according to a source. Then the story would indeed be about him. But again: why would you want to be interesting about that?”

Yvonne Coldeweijer also states that William refers to the presence of John. “Exciting right? 🤓”
