John van den Heuvel wants Peter Gillis off the TV: ‘Doesn’t belong on TV’

John van den Heuvel finds it extremely remarkable that Talpa has made the decision to simply keep Peter Gillis on the channel. “It really just doesn’t belong on TV at all.”

Peter Gillis is suspected by the Public Prosecution Service that he abused his girlfriend Nicol Kremers, including by biting her nose and her back. However, he makes one of the few TV hits from SBS 6 and that’s why Talpa just lets him on the tube: “We talked quite extensively with each other.”

John stunned

It is really unbelievable that Talpa dismisses this as a ‘private matter’, says John van den Heuvel. He says in RTL Boulevard: “Then you can dismiss everything as a private matter?”

He continues: “I think it is a very bad signal to people who are suspected of these kinds of things. They just don’t really belong on television, but they should first wait and see what the judge thinks about it.”

Viewer boycott

A viewer boycott might also be an option, suggests presenter Daan Nieber. “We all just shouldn’t watch, of course that’s also possible. But hey, that’s a tip.”

It is questionable whether the viewing advice from RTL Boulevard will help, because Family Gillis: Massa is Kassa has had a large fan base for years. The program is not as popular as Chateau Meiland, but a TV exit would undoubtedly mean a major blow to John de Mol’s channel.

Johnny de Mol

It is also striking that John van den Heuvel advocates so fanatically to remove Peter Gillis from the tube, because he always jumps in the breach for Johnny de Mol. That presenter, not entirely coincidentally also from SBS 6, has been accused by his ex Shima Kaes of much more serious abuse and even attempted manslaughter.

An important difference is that John is not objective in the Johnny case, because he is clearly in the host’s camp. After all, it was John who was engaged by the De Mol family two years ago to tell their side of the story. He was even called their ‘ errand boy ‘ because of this.

fierce criticism

John’s subjective attitude has been criticized many times, including from Angela de Jong. “It made me sad. You now expect from Shownieuws and Johan Derksen that they are in favor of their employer’s son, but of someone like John van den Heuvel?”

A few months ago, John explained why he always stands up for Johnny. According to the crime journalist, there is something fishy about this case. Why he is so sure about the Gillis case is unclear.
