Wilfred Genee started his ratings hit last night Inside today about media colleague John van den Heuvel. According to the presenter, a book about the crime journalist is on the way. “Now that we are talking about the criminal world: a book will be published about John van den Heuvel, I understood?”

John’s feuds

According to Johan Derksen, that is indeed correct. “Yes, I understood that. Bas van Hout is working on a book about John van den Heuvel, because John turns out not to be too good in that world.”

Wilfred again: “Certainly not with Bas van Hout. They have quite a feud with the two of them.”

Johan: “Yes, they have quite a feud, but John seems to have even more feuds, because I was also a bit shocked that Royce de Vries recently said: ‘I never want anything to do with John all my life. van den Heuvel.’ Then I think: something is very wrong there.”

Sneak from John

It is exciting what kind of book it will be, says Johan. “I don’t know what kind of inputs Bas van Hout has and what he has, but he is working on a book about John van den Heuvel.”

Johan himself is not only positive about the RTL Boulevard expert. “The only thing I didn’t like about John van den Heuvel is that he announces everything and throws everything into De Telegraaf, except when his colleague is in trouble at De Telegraaf. Then nothing will be written about it.”

Mike van Wely

Wilfred: “You mean Mick van Wely? With that transgressive behavior?”

René van der Gijp: “It works again.”

Johan: “I think that’s normal, but then you shouldn’t be hypocritical, right? Look, he already hung Marco Borsato before the Public Prosecution Service has made a ruling.”

Table guest Valentijn Driessen: “I just called John, but he says: ‘I think he’s been working on that book for four years now.’ He already knew about that, only that book has never been published and I don’t think it will ever be published.”
