John Lewis aims to fill more than 10,000 positions during the holiday season

British department store group John Lewis has announced that it will be hiring more than 10,000 workers across the UK in the coming period.

More than 2,800 of these are seasonal positions at the partnership’s supermarket chain Waitrose, including night shifts and delivery drivers. There are over 2,900 temporary sales and merchandising positions across John Lewis’ 34 stores. The retailer will also fill 2,700 seasonal positions in its supply chain through recruitment agencies. In addition to the seasonal roles, John Lewis will offer a further 1,700 positions in a variety of roles at Waitrose and John Lewis over the coming months.

“We are very proud of the way both of our brands have become part of the excitement that surrounds the holiday season and this is a great opportunity to be the center of attention at such a special time,” said Lisa Cherry, Executive Director of people of the group. “Our customers are at the center of everything we do. We want to offer them a great Christmas with inspiring products and the very best customer service through our excellent partners.”
