John de Mol is hit hard by Gossip Talk: ‘Potentially explosive’

The lawsuit that John de Mol has filed against the stars of Gossip Talk may just come back in his face like a boomerang. “This is potentially explosive.”

Jan Roos said in his Gossip Talk program in mid-April that he has evidence that the De Mol family paid witnesses in the assault case against Johnny de Mol. The billionaire son is accused by his ex-girlfriend Shima Kaes of serious assault, including a punch at The Harbor Club in Amsterdam.

hush money

According to Shima, three people witnessed that blow and Jan claims that all three received hush money from the De Mol family, namely five thousand euros per person. He called that “one hundred thousand percent true,” but backtracked when John threatened a lawsuit. Gossip Talk decided to rectify.

There was one demand that the men of Gossip Talk did not agree to, namely the deposit of 10,000 euros to Stichting Het Vergeten Kind, which Johnny has been committed to for almost ten years. Jan and his co-host Dennis Schouten proposed to transfer the money to a Stay Of My Body. “Otherwise they won’t see any money!”

Revenue model

Well, that joke didn’t go down well with John. He decided to start proceedings on the merits against the men and to demand 27,500 euros each. By financially stripping the men, the media billionaire wants to ‘make the men’s earnings model unattractive’, his lawyer Peter Plasman told The Telegraph.

Ridiculous, Jan responds in the latest GossipTalk. “Why would you want to destroy our business model? I don’t quite believe that has anything to do with your case. Rather, it seems to me a statement that does not go down very well in court, because apparently it is not about his ‘suffering’, but because he wants to destroy us.”

Countercase

Dennis and Jan are now legally opening the attack on John themselves, they say in their program. “We have a huge list of witnesses who can testify that someone on behalf of the De Mol family bought people off to keep quiet about Johnny’s bang on Shima Kaes,” Dennis says.

Jan pugnacious: “We will soon be requesting a whole list of people who will have to declare under oath to the court what exactly happened. Uncle John and Johnny will soon be in court and will be told by the witnesses that it actually happened.”

According to Jan, Team John is already backing down. “They say, ‘There may have been someone, a third person, who indeed may have possibly and may have given someone money.’”

Potentially explosive

Media journalist Mark Koster is curious where this is going. “The battle between Jan Roos and the De Mol family is no longer a Gossip Talk if Roos can actually demonstrate that De Mol bought witnesses who saw Junior Shima hit Kaes in the Harbor club. Roos claims to have three witnesses who want to explain this in court.”

It could just be a boomerang in John’s face, according to Mark. “Can also all be bluff on both sides, but this is potentially explosive. If Jan Roos shows that bribery has taken place, then that is a plot twist at Better Call Saul level.”

What does John say? He lets his lawyer know that he ‘is not going to respond to this nonsense’.
