“John de Mol done with Gordon after rude comment about SBS exit”

There is little chance that John de Mol will still be interested in working with Gordon on a project basis after his statements about his impending departure from SBS 6, thinks Evert Santegoeds.

Gordon’s five-year million-dollar contract with family channel SBS 6 expires on December 1 and he says he is very happy with it. The entertainer states that it is his own decision and that he cannot wait for that day. “On December 1, the flag goes out for me. (…) I want to continue working on a freelance basis.”

‘Flag at Talpa’

Evert Santegoeds, who works as a Shownieuws star for the same channel, thinks that Gordon can write on his stomach. “The flag went out with him, he said. Well, I think with Talpa too, because it’s really not a success. I believe sixteen programs have been made with him in recent years, none of which scored a hole in the air, so yes…”

Gordon can forget about freelancing in television, says Evert in the podcast Strictly Private. “He will now start his own business, he says, but he will have to, because so many people no longer want to work with Gordon. He now wants to become a TV producer himself, to make his own programs, but then the question remains: who is going to broadcast them?”

‘John doesn’t want anymore’

Talpa boss John de Mol will no longer work with him, he expects. “If you say that you will raise the flag when your million-dollar contract has expired, then I do not think that Talpa is eager to do so after the ‘successes’ of recent years. And neither does RTL. And the public broadcaster has no money for it, so…”

Is Gordon still worth that much money after all those flops? “Knowing Gordon, he will put a price on it, on his own programs.”

‘Not very chic’

Co-host Jordi Versteegden thinks that Gordon does not handle this well. “That’s not chic, is it, how do you say goodbye?”

Johan Derksen also indicated last week that John de Mol is not sad about Gordon’s departure. “There is another one who is flying the flag and that could be John de Mol. They’re glad they got rid of that prankster, man. What else do you want with that guy?”
