Kirsten-Jan van Nieuwenhuijzen, one of John de Mol’s critics, hits back at Evert Santegoeds. “Let’s all stick to our expertise. For Evert, that is gossip.”
Kirsten Jan van Nieuwenhuijzen, who started his career as one of the first four creatives by John de Mol, is active as a format developer and in that capacity has his own podcast. It also occasionally contains some critical notes about media billionaire John, for example about the fact that he is on his way back. And Evert Santegoeds is pissed off about that.
Evert is pissed
It particularly bothers Evert that Kirsten-Jan suggests that John is too old for the profession, namely 67 years. “Perhaps that is not so strange if you have been a billionaire for twenty years and are somewhat outside society. (…) At a certain point you may wonder if it might be a bit over.”
Evert, who receives a nice pocket money from John every month for his appearances at the Shownieuws desk, is usually quite touchy when it comes to criticizing his boss. And Kirsten-Jan also took an ugly sneer: “That guy has been on his way out for twenty years! He is the last person to say anything about it!”
Kirsten-Jan responds
What does Kirsten-Jan think about that? He says in his podcast Content Wars: “Well, I’m still recovering from it to be honest. Of course we expected that a number of Yugoslavs would be sent to us from Talpa, but that has become Evert, who is at least as dangerous.”
“We are not going to spend too many words on it, to Evert. That’s a waste of words. All I’m saying is let’s all stick to our expertise. Evert about gossip, which he’s been doing all his life, and we about formats, because he knows very little about that. And I don’t like gossip, so: cobbler, stick to your reading, I would say.”
