Djarno Hofland is not only André Hazes Jr.’s tour manager, but also his cousin. And that, according to John de Bever, makes it very difficult to make professional decisions. “That’s not a real manager, that’s more of a friend who goes with him to performances,” he says in conversation with the Weekend. “Well, everyone should know that for themselves.”

better manager

According to John, it would be better if his husband Kees became André’s manager. “I really think he would have been a good one for little Hazes. I am convinced of that, he can guide him well. Me too, I’m a lot older, I know things now, but even I still have to be sent. With such a young guest, that is even more important.”

He continues: “A lot is happening with these young guys, who need to be surrounded by good people. (…) But yes, if Kees is going to do it, I will lose him. Then it becomes more difficult for me, haha.”

father figure

John has regularly encountered André during performances. “Am I a kind of father figure for André? Not that, but when I see him, we are always very close.”

Does André also ask for advice? “No, he doesn’t have to, he has his own people for that. Look, I can’t say anything bad about little Hazes, because he’s always nice to me.”

Rachel is a fan

André’s mother Rachel Hazes is a fan of Djarno as a manager. “The one that makes me laugh really hard… The first thing that comes to my mind is my nephew, Djarno, and my son. They are so attuned to each other and what a sense of humor they have. So rowdy. I have to laugh a lot about that,” she says in the podcast What Goeeed.

She continues: “We’ve all been to Spain for a week now and when I see how those two… It’s so innocent and a bit rowdy, but it’s wonderful to see those two so happy. I can laugh a lot about that.”

two brothers

Djarno is the perfect match with André, says Rachel. “They are two brothers. They grew up together and moved in together. Djarno of course started working for André as a tour manager at some point. They know everything about each other.”

Finally, does Rachel have a message for all her haters? “Some people think they’re going to get me if they talk a little bit about me or something, but strangely enough, it doesn’t bother me at all anymore.”
