John de Bever does not exactly score the roof with his real life soap on RTL 5. According to Tina Nijkamp, the scores are below par. Will he get another season or is it over and out?
The real-life soap by John de Bever and his lover, De Bevers, is not exactly a hit in the ratings. For example, only 305 thousand people (6 percent market share) watched the broadcast on RTL 5 yesterday. “Lewis on RTL 8 manages to fascinate even more viewers than the Beavers on RTL5. That is quite remarkable.” say RTL Boulevard reporter Joost Maiburg.
Substandard
Viewing figure connoisseur Tina Nijkamp also thinks the score is not good. “De Bevers actually already scored below par linearly last season, but will probably be viewed well on Videoland. In any case, they do not even score enough viewers to be eligible for a nomination for the Televizier-Ring.”
She points to the low market share in the commercial target group aged 20 to 54. “That is no cause for joy. It’s not a great start either, of course, two weeks in a row against football. AI scored Anderlecht – AZ not mega: 679 thousand viewers.”
Alice even worse
However, John de Bever is not the flop of the evening. That is Ilse Warringa with her series Cast, which this time did not exceed 119 thousand viewers (2 percent). “So not a good viewing figure morning for John de Bever, but for Ilse Warringa the viewing figures are really terrible. Only 119 thousand viewers for the expensive drama series Cast. What a drama,” says Tina.
She continues: “Really every expensive series – Cast costs between 150 to 200 thousand euros per episode I suspect – flops MIGANTICALLY on NPO 3. Time to think carefully with the heads of Drama there whether they shouldn’t even go another way to beat. Because even if it is viewed well after a delay, it does not lead to very large numbers of viewers.”
Floor wins
The winner on prime time yesterday was Floortjegaat Mee with almost 1.1 million viewers (21 percent) on NPO 1, after which Dit Was Het Nieuws came out on exactly the same score.
SBS 6 takes silver with 826 thousand viewers (17 percent) for Today Inside and RTL 4 takes bronze with 525 thousand viewers (10 percent) for Better Than Ever.
