Since December 1, 2020, Johannes Ehling has been CEO of the Hirmer Handel division at the clothing supplier Hirmer Group. The experienced fashion manager is now leaving the company. On Monday, the group announced that Ehling would be leaving the group of companies “by mutual agreement” at the end of May and resigning from his management duties.
Christian Hirmer, the shareholder and spokesman for the group, paid tribute to the outgoing manager: “During the 18 months he worked for the Hirmer Group, Johannes Ehling initiated many important initiatives and advanced the transformation process he initiated,” he explained in a statement. “We would like to thank Johannes Ehling for this contribution to the development of our company and wish him all the best for his professional and private future.”
Ehling’s tasks at Hirmer Handel are taken on by a management team
Before moving to Hirmer, Ehling had been spokesman for the board of the clothing group Gerry Weber International AG. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at retailer Ernsting’s Family, where he held various management positions.
For the time being, the Hirmer Group does not want to fill Ehling’s previous position, which was created especially for him. “With immediate effect, the activities bundled in Hirmer Handel will be managed by a management team consisting of Dr. Christian Hirmer (CFO/interim), Andreas Bernkopf and Clemens Ode as well as Jens Beukema will take over,” the company announced. Christian Hirmer will also “act on an interim basis as spokesman for the management”.
