Johan Vlemmix brings caviar of 100,000 euros to Princess Beatrix

Johan Vlemmix went to Princess Beatrix on Monday afternoon to hand over a special gift. Together with entrepreneur Salar Azimi, he stood at the gate of Drakesteyn Castle in Lage Vuursche with a box of caviar worth 100,000 euros.

Princess Beatrix turned 84 on Monday. Sakar Azimi seized this moment to thank her. He came to the Netherlands as a refugee 25 years ago.

Golden box with diamonds
“He had a room of three by three meters and then wrote a letter to Beatrix,” says Vlemmix in the radio program Afslag Zuid. Beatrix replied to the letter at the time. “Now 25 years later, Azimi is a multimillionaire and he wants to thank Beatrix for all the wonderful years he has been able to spend here,” says Vlemmix.

According to him, the caviar is the most expensive in the world and costs one euro per egg, the box contains 100,000 eggs. The caviar, packed in a gold box with diamonds, and a large bunch of flowers have been received by a security guard.

Vlemmix itself has not tasted the eggs. “It is and remains fish. They are raw eggs, no, that’s not quite my hobby. But Beatrix seems to like them.”

Expensive gifts
It’s not the first time Azimi has generously sprinkled gifts. Azimi previously offered 100,000 euros to the players and staff of the Breda football club NAC if they were to be promoted. Shortly afterwards he became discredited because of suspicions of money laundering and fraud.
