Johan Derksen treats Gordon to a reality check: ‘How dare you do this?!’

Johan Derksen thinks it is disrespectful and unworldly that Gordon is flying the flag because his contract with Talpa expired this weekend. “How dare you say it?” the VI star gushes.

It is perhaps the biggest mistake John de Mol has made with SBS 6: offering a five-year (!) contract to Gordon. It’s an unusually long contract in the TV world, because nowadays a star in no time could fall completely out of favor and with Gordon the risk of that is high. And one thing is certain: he has fallen out of favor.

‘How dare you?!’

Media critic Victor Vlam previously explained that Gordon has an unusually large number of flops to his name. How does he describe the entertainer? Like a kamikaze pilot who ruins his own career. Goor had his last day at Talpa on Thursday and he previously promised that he would fly the flag on Friday, he was so happy with his Talpa exit.

Johan Derksen finds such a comment insulting. He delicately reminds Goor that he can thank God on his bare knees that he has been paid at all by John de Mol in recent years. “Unbelieveable. That guy was supposed to fly a flag today, because his contract with Talpa expired. How dare you say it?” he responds Today Inside.

Want performance

Gordon is really shameless, Johan thinks. “That guy has filled his pockets with nothing but poor performance, he has antagonized the whole of the Netherlands and he then has the arrogance to be happy that he has gotten rid of that shitty Talpa. He just put all those money in his pocket for nothing all year long!”

René van der Gijp: “I think the past two years were for nothing! He would occasionally do a program at the weekend and no one would watch it.”

Vomited out

Johan does not think that RTL is interested in Gordon. “The whole of the Netherlands vomited on him, he committed self-destruction, structural self-destruction and finally he succeeded.”

Hélène Hendriks: “It’s actually a shame, because we obviously appreciated him very much. We really liked him with Gerard Joling. They were so funny there. He can make very good jokes, but he is not very good at taking them.”

Cheer up

Then Today Inside shows the rather hysterical images from earlier this year in which Gordon shouts that he is going to fly the flag when he leaves Talpa.

Johan: “He has taken a pill, because a normal person does not react like that. These are really the gestures and state of mind of someone who is in high spirits.”
