Johan Derksen gets involved in the enormous media quarrel between Maarten van Rossem and René van der Gijp. The Today Inside star suggests that the jury member of De Slimste Mens is unhygienic.
The quarrel between Maarten van Rossem on the one hand and René van der Gijp on the other has flared up in a very serious way and now Johan Derksen is also involved in the conflict. Although Maarten was fairly praising Johan a few days ago, he now gets a merciless sneer in his face.
Maarten praises Johan
It is no longer a secret that it is no longer a secret between Maarten and René. The VI star called him ‘so sad’ a week and a half ago, after which the Smartest star hit back by calling René ‘stupid’.
Maarten was mild to Johan: “I think relatively positively about Johan, because he is a man of serious interests. Yes, he is in that VI and of course that earns well. It’s easy, because that’s one of the aspects of VI, of course. It’s an extreme kind of laziness: you sit down and you just talk a long way.”
Relaxed atmosphere
Although Johan’s work at VI ‘of course hardly has any meaning in terms of content’, Maarten says he does feel a bond with the football analyst.
Maarten: “Yes, we worked together for a day. I interviewed him for Maarten magazine. He didn’t come to my house at the time, but we had a very nice trip. There was a relaxed atmosphere, because he grew up in Heteren. On the other side of the river, because I grew up in Wageningen.”
Johan lashes out
Despite those words of praise, Johan lashes out mercilessly at Maarten. Yesterday evening in Today Inside: “Die Maarten van Rossem… You said something about that Maarten van Rossem, so he has responded again. That’s the new hype: if you say something on TV, you’ll get an answer through a podcast that I never listen to.”
Dan: “He doesn’t take this program seriously. Well, that’s convenient, because neither do we. Then he says what is not good about this program, because it is humor and jokes from men in advanced age. And there is one in the Netherlands who is older than me on TV and that is Maarten van Rossem!”
Wilfred Genee: “But he makes a different kind of joke, he thinks.”
“He’s not showering!”
Then Johan starts talking about Maarten’s hygiene: “Yes, he thinks so, yes. But that elitist can be a bit off. In any case, I take a shower every morning! That’s the difference then.”
Wilfred: “Oh, now you’re going to make it too! And when I made it, you couldn’t make that comment.”
Johan: “Yes, but you said whether he had washed his genitals in the morning.”
Wilfred: “No, I said: ‘You take a shower once every two weeks, only you wash your private parts every day.’ Then the conversation fell silent. But we all made up for that later.”
