Johan Derksen finds Buitenhof presenter Maaike Schoon very ‘bitty’. He is very disturbed by the way in which she has interviewed the Russian ambassador Aleksander Shulgin.

Buitenhof star Maaike Schoon questioned the propaganda parrot Aleksander Sjoelgin in a fairly passive-aggressive way. She has received both praise and criticism. “I’d rather have that ambassador from Russia at the table than the lady who interviewed him,” says Johan Derksen, for example, in his Today Inside program.

Prejudiced

Presenter Wilfred Genee: “You could tell what she thought of it.”

Horrible, says Johan. “One thing: she speaks insanely good English, but she needs to be told that if you invite someone for an interview, the man can finish a sentence every now and then. She was so prejudiced that she gave it to him left and right.”

in reason

Maaike should have let that Aleksander finish, Johan thinks. “She doesn’t have to interrupt me. But I also think: when you invite someone to the table, you should also let them have their say and not interrupt all the time.”

He continues: “She has lived up to her small circle and journalism will be proud, ‘well done girl’, but I thought it was a bit uncivilized. Prejudice is never good for a moderator.”

Bitshy

As far as Johan is concerned, Maaike has failed. “It’s also the tone of the music. It was just really unpleasant and bitter.”

“That man remained very calm and stuck to his red line, but that man absolutely did not get the opportunity to tell his story.”
