Jochem Myjer celebrates his parents’ life after ‘bizarrely violent’ car accident | show

Jochem Myjer (45) is grateful for the good health of his parents. He and his sisters celebrated their lives yesterday, after they narrowly survived a violent car accident a year ago.

According to Jochem, it is a ‘bizarrely violent car accident’ that put him and his family on a ‘very nasty roller coaster of recovery, sadness, medical miracles and good luck’. Reason to toast to life yesterday, together with sisters Carolijne and Wieke.

‘A very good friend of mine is a traumatologist, experiences intense things every day and once said: We are all walking on a minefield. Whether you live a healthy life, are sweet or an asshole, anyone can step on a mine’, Jochem also writes. So drink life. Real. Every day.’

The well-known friends of the comedian agree wholeheartedly. Jochem receives hearts from Armin van Buuren, Chantal Janzen, Samantha Steenwijk, Arjen Lubach, Coen Swijnenberg, Bas Smit, Shirma Rouse, Loes Haverkort, Cynthia Abma and Paul de Munnik, among others.

Jochem recently brought up his bad memory in André van Duin’s program, With van Duin in the backseat. His mother was in the ICU with a broken back. “And my father was also there with all kinds of broken things. Then a very nice doctor came in, and he said: Mr. Myjer, I’m going to feel you everywhere, to see if everything is all right. To which I still say: ‘Mom, I know you have a broken back, but would you still turn around? She had to laugh at that anyway. Humor is the best medicine. Especially with painful things.”
