Jonathan Javier, a former Snap worker, was left without a job
Google hired him for a post on Linkedin
The story is that of Jonathan Javier, a former Snap worker who lost his job, is the one that defines that sometimes being original is more important to have a mileage resume.
Jonathan was a victim of an outsourcing of his job that included his department so, aware that it was going to be news, he exposed his case on Linkedin. This turned out to be a hit as the post made its way to hiring managers and recruiters from companies like Lyft and Tesla.
Various companies began contacting him. Received at least 10 offers, including one directly from a Google hiring manager who was looking for a sales operations analyst. That was how she got the job.
The post said the following:
“Recently, I got the news that there were going to be some changes to my position at Snap. While news like this is sometimes hard to hear, changes like this happen in technology, and that was the risk I was willing to take.” to take on for greater reward and experience that correlated with my short- and long-term goals. However, I am grateful and fortunate for the opportunity to work at a great company to start my career. I remember last year graduating from the University of California, Riverside with high aspirations to work in the tech industry. Through perseverance and hard work, it paid off in big ways.Whether it’s helping improve operations processes, the new feedback update, or helping students/job seekers get into tech, I’m grateful for the experience and excited for where my next adventure will take me.Thanks to my teammates and everyone who helped me learn and grow over the past year. If you are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others, has years of business experience and shows leadership through different initiatives, please feel free to pass on my information! I would love to connect and also help where I can.I’ll also be posting an article about my experience in the next week, so stay tuned.”
