Jisse Otter van Wakker Emmen on behalf of BBB Drenthe candidate deputy

The BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) puts forward Jisse Otter as a candidate deputy. At the moment he is still an alderman in Emmen, on behalf of the Wakker Emmen party. After Egbert van Dijk, Otter is the second BBB deputy to be nominated, and who is an alderman on behalf of a local independent political party.

BBB party chairman Gert-Jan Schuinder calls Otter (65) ‘an experienced administrator who seeks contact with society’. In Emmen, his portfolio includes finance, housing and enforcement. Jisse Otter has been alderman for Wakker Emmen since 2014. Prior to that, he worked as an accountant and financial advisor.

In a press release, Otter calls it an honor to become a deputy. “I worked for nine years with great colleagues on beautiful and important subjects in Emmen. Now I get the opportunity to dedicate myself to all residents of Drenthe. I can’t let that opportunity pass.”

For the coalition in the province of Drenthe, the BBB negotiates with PvdA, VVD and CDA.

“If the formation process goes according to expectations, he will say goodbye as alderman before the summer,” reports the municipality of Emmen.

For Wakker Emmen, the news that their alderman is going to make the step to the province comes as a surprise. The party must now start thinking about a successor. “Together with the party, we are going to see how we are going to fill this in. We are going to look at this carefully,” says party chairman Leo Hoogenberg.
