Jimmy Castien became champion of the Netherlands for the fifth time last Sunday with Aalsmeer. Castien is a busy owner, because in addition to handball he also has his own construction company.
“I am a project leader and I make sure that all teams work together, I make calculations and schedules,” Castien says passionately about his profession. His other passion is handball and he has been playing in the first of Aalsmeer for fifteen years. He will also play in sports hall De Bloemhof next season.

Castien is an indispensable link in the team of coach Bert Bouwer. “The cornstarch of the plow. A real binding agent”, says Bouwer. Aalsmeer chairman Mike van der Laarse is also lyrical about the handball player. “Never whine and a real training animal, while he has his own business and a family. An example and it can only be that a trainer is happy with that,” says Van der Laarse.
