It hurts a lot, the Yankee skier said an hour before the start of stage 6/7 of the Tour.
Tour de Ski leading American Jessie Diggins is broken. The woman commented on her condition about an hour before the start of stage 6/7 of the Tour on Saturday in Val di Fiemme.
– Actually, it hurts a lot, Diggins answered the USA coach by Jason Cork to the question of how he is.
The coach and the athlete talked during the ski test at the Tesero ski stadium.
– Jessie fell during Thursday’s race in Davos and injured her other hip. He has received treatment and we are trying to get the hip right,” Cork told Expressen on Thursday in Switzerland.
The fact that Diggins gets hurt doesn’t necessarily destroy a woman’s competition.
Diggins, who grew up in Minnesota, has a special ability to push himself to the limit.
– The gap between the ears is hard. No female skier has “died” so many times. Diggins goes to places where few people want or even can go, Iltalehti’s skiing expert Reijo Jylhä analyzed earlier during the Tour.
Coach Cork also praised his protégé’s resilience.
– Jessie is really persistent. He’s used to racing with ailments, so I don’t think this will cause any problems, Cork surmised.
The traditional joint start of the women’s 15 km starts at 12:30 Finnish time.
